Harshida Gayakwad, age 20 lives with her family of 6 in Kubernagar A ward, Ahmedabad. As her brother was tge only sole earner it was difficult for her to pursue her education further. She wanted to help her brother but didnt kne the possible way in which she can help him. One day her friend told her about beauty parlour classes being run at police station premises, she visited the class run by wings to fly foundation and got herself enrolled. After completion of training she always wanted to do a job and help her family and got selected. Talking about her experience she says," I always wanted to help my family and wings to fly has helped me in fulfilling my dreams, I am very greatful to them, they have given me an opportunity to be selfindependent in life".


Kanchan, age 23, lives in santoshnagar, Bhaiyaji's chawl with her family of 7 members including 5 siblings. Since her father was a sole earning member it was difficult to him to fulfil the needs of his family. So to help her father she started doing small jobs. One day her friend told her about Diva saloon running at a police station. She went to visit the saloon and join the beautyparlour course now after training she got a job in a salon. Karishma ghamande lives in kubernagar with her family. Her father was rickshaw driver but he died when she was just ten years old. So to run the family her mother used to sell papad and potatoes but that was not sufficient to run the family. To help her mother she quit her education and started helping her mother in her business. One day she came in touch with Wings to fly foundation and was impressed by their work. So finally decided to undergo beauticians’ course. Training gave her much needed skills and confidence. She was brilliant in her skills so Wings to fly and TATA TRUSTS gave her job at their diva saloon. Now through her job she is proudly supporting family.


Pooja Anilbhai Indrekar, age 19 year lives in Kubernagar area of Ahmedabad with her family of 5. Her father used to run a small pan parlour but died at very young age so to run the family her big brother used to repair fans but that wasn’t enough to support the family so he started selling liquor. But liquor selling put him into big trouble as police used to harass her brother a lot. She wanted to her brother but didn’t knew how? One day she came into contact of wings to fly foundation. They were running a beauty parlour in Kubernagar area. She got interested in the trade and decided join the trade. She was performing well at the training so looking at her skills Wings to fly offered her a job at their Diva saloon. Talking about her experience she says, “Wings to fly and TATA TRUSTS has change my life, they gave a Chhara girl like me an opportunity to excel and made me independent, I am now being able to support my family.


Pallavi came by one of our beauty and wellness training programmes with Urban Clap 5 months ago. After 7 years of being involved in brewing illegal hootch, she now earns Rs. 30,000 per month as a beautician with Urban Clap.


Meet Chnadrika Mukeshbhai Talpada from the Bodiroji, Mahamedabad, one of our beneficiaries for beauty and wellness. She has few days left in her training to work at a beauty salon. She acquired skills in d-tan, bleach, pedicure, manicure, and eyebrow, waxing. She began practising at home as she gained knowledge. Her neighbourhood responded well to her. She offers her nearby clients services including facials, waxing, cosmetics, and brow shaping. She began Earning money. She will be able to earn more money and support her family, which makes her quite happy right now.
